kbuild software package provides framework for writing simple makefiles for complex tasks, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kbuild
kbuild is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kbuild package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kbuild *
You will get with kbuild package name, version, architecture and description in a table
